Keokuk man sentenced to four years for felony sex crime

Alonzo Tyrone Brewer lands in prison following sexual abuse of a minor conviction.

LEE COUNTY - On October 31, 2023, Alonzo Tyrone Brewer, 54, of Keokuk was charged with Three (3) Counts of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree. These charges stemmed from an investigation into the allegation that Brewer committed sexual abuse upon a minor fourteen or fifteen years of age, and the person being four or more years older than the minor on or about December 2022 to about February 2023 in Keokuk, Iowa.
Brewer plead guilty as charged to Count II, Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree.
On November 18, 2024, Brewer was ordered to serve 10 years for Count II, Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree within the Iowa Department of Corrections. Brewer was also ordered to a lifetime Sex Offender Registry requirement with a lifetime special parole sentence. Brewer is to be immediately delivered to the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence.
The Keokuk Police Department was the responding agency and led the investigation on the case. This matter was prosecuted by the Lee County Attorney’s Office
