Keokuk PD nabs Quincy shooting suspect

KEOKUK - On September 30th, 2025, our department received information that a suspect who allegedly involved in a shooting in Quincy, Illinois on September 29th, 2025. The Quincy Police Department named Dyrece T. Knaff II, 21, as the suspect in the shooting and indicated that he should be armed and potentially dangerous.
Through a multi-agency operation led by our department, Knaff was arrested without incident at 3:26am on October 1, 2025, in Keokuk. Knaff was arrested on warrants related to the shooting that occurred in Quincy, Il with no additional local charges.
After the arrest, a search warrant was obtained and served at a residence in Keokuk. During the search of the residence, a 9mm handgun was recovered and turned over to the Quincy Police Department.
The Fort Madison Police Department, Special Response Team, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Quincy Police Department, and the LeeComm Dispatch Center provided valuable resources and assistance to our department during this event.
