Masked individuals allegedly fire at vehicle near Victory Park

Posted

KEOKUK - On November 29, 2024 at approximately 8:59 p.m., Keokuk Police Officers were dispatched to the riverfront between Victory Park and the George M. Verity for possible gunshots being fired.
Officers arrived on scene in less than four minutes and began interviewing witnesses.
Through the investigation, it was discovered that two masked subjects approached a sedan on foot from the passenger side. One of the subjects was carrying what appeared to be a firearm. There was a verbal altercation and as the sedan attempted to leave the area, it was struck in the rear driver side by a dark colored sport utility vehicle. This likely resulted in significant front-end damage to the SUV. As the sedan drove away, at least one shot is believed to be fired in the direction of the sedan. No injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
Officers canvassed the area, speaking with witnesses and attempting to locate evidence.
This appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the general public.
|This is an ongoing investigation with no additional details at this time.
