Karen S. Drummond, 84, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away at 12:00 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Birkwood Village in Ft. Madison.
She was born on June 10, 1941 in Ft. Madison to Norbert and Roline Danley Krieger.  Karen married Dale “Duane” Myers in September of 1960 and they later divorced.  On October 24, 1987 she married Jerry Drummond at the St. Barnabas Church in Montrose. He passed away on January 21, 2023.  Karen worked at Sheaffer Pen and the Iowa State Penitentiary and retired from there after twenty years of service.  She enjoyed doing crafts, baking and decorating cakes and camping at Lake Wilderness. Most of all Karen loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandsons.  She was lovingly known as Nana and Great Nana.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori Hay of Ft. Madison; three grandchildren, Amanda Hay, Julie (Jake) Hay and Sara (Wes) Peer; great grandchildren, Henry and Henrik; one brother, Robert (Tina) Krieger of Ft. Madison; stepchildren, Dennis (Grace) Drummond, Diana Robinson, Denise (Mark) Parks, Donna Drummond and Lynn (Bill) Schorfheide and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kurt Myers; granddaughter, Megan Hay; son in law, Thad Hay; stepson, Duane Drummond; step grandson, Tony Campbell.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  The family will meet with friends from 10-11 on Friday, September 12, 2025 with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM at at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
