Carol Ann Medland, 77, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 2:05 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the Montrose Health Center. She was born on March 13, 1949 in Centerville, IA to George E. & Geraldine E. Thilmony Medland. She was a babysitter & caretaker for most of her life and a member of Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Iowa Hawkeyes, going to the casino and she loved Elvis.
Carol is survived by: 3-sisters: Donna (Mike) Peterie of Fort Madison, IA, Mary Beth “Buffy” (Dave) Orton of Fort Madison, IA & Linda Painter of Fort Madison, IA; 4-brothers: Edward (Eileen) Medland of West Point, IA, Ronald (Linda) Medland of Columbia, MO, George (Patty) Medland of Brimfield, IL & Richard Medland of Fort Madison, IA and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Medland.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
