Elaine J. Richmond, 90, of Wever, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 3:40 AM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
She was born on February 6, 1936 in Sioux City, IA to Henry and June Martin Groves. Elaine married Rick Richmond and he preceded her in death. While living in Cedar Rapids, she was the manager of the Roosevelt Hotel. She also worked at the YMCA in Burlington. Elaine enjoyed playing cards, reading, doing crosswords and puzzles. Most of all she loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Deanna (Jeff) Thompson and Kim Knotts of Wever and Debbie (Mark) Jones all of Bulington and one son, Henry Hoppe of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Jackie, a grandson, Drake Knotts and her daughter in law, Deb Hoppe.
Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 2-4 PM at the Wever Fire Station.
