Francis “Frank” Nolte, 88, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Sunrise Terrace in Winfield, IA.
He was born on May 7, 1937 in Ft. Madison to Bernard and Myrtle Cook Nolte. On June 25, 1960 he married Eunice Varner in Ft. Madison and she passed away on March 13, 2024. Frank started his career as a machine operator at Midwest Packaging and retired from Burrows as Vice President of Manufacturing. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and served in the US Marines. Frank was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, work in his yard and take daily walks with Eunice. He was also a talented woodworker. Frank was a man of few words yet a heart of gold. He was immensely proud of his grandkids and loved spending time with them.
Survivors include his son, Jim (Lisa) Nolte of Morning Sun; his daughter, Carol (Paul) Gousset of Lemont, IL; seven grandchildren, Gabrielle (Bobby) Redd, Alexandra Gousset, Dominique Gousset, Jacob Gousset, Zachary (Tran) Nolte, Alyssa (Vince) Micek and Emily Nolte; three great grandchildren, Nora Micek, Rowan and Rhys Redd; one sister, Darlene Morrison of Keokuk; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and four brothers, James, Paul, Donald, Thomas and Leroy.
The family will meet with friends on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 1-3 PM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 16, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
