Judy Lee McCollum, 84, of Ft. Madison, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 9:47 PM at her home.
She was born on June 26, 1941 in Keokuk to Herb and Emily Edna Greer Fenton. Judy married Donald D. King and they later divorced, she married Bernard “Bernie” Kapit and they later divorced. She then married John McCollum on August 17, 1984 and he passed away on November 7, 2018. In her early years, Judy worked at Bluebird and Heatilator in Mt. Pleasant. She then worked for several years as a waitress at Ceasar’s restaurant in Ft. Madison. Judy enjoyed painting, doing crafts and gardening. She had a natural motherly gift and would take care of everyone. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Donald “Thane” King of Anamosa, IA; Gregory (Pamela) King of Denmark, IA and Ritchie King of Lucedale, MS; two daughters, Krista (Rich) Weakley of Hamilton, IL and Susan (Bryan) Woodley of Primrose, IA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Dixie Salazar of Terre Haute, IN and a brother, Butch Fenton of Keokuk; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John and a brother, Mike Fenton.
Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A family burial will take place at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton, IL.
