Laneta Joy Bernardt, 90, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 1:58 AM at Birkwood Village.
She was born on August 30, 1935 in Pontoosuc, IL to Charles and Susie West Ash. Laneta was a companion for the homebound and a Stanley Home Product Representative. She was a member of Fort Madison Christian Church and enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include one son, Phillip Bernardt of Morrow, AR; three daughters, Tanya Bernhardt of Burlington, Ella (Alan) Coates of Gainesville, FL and Emma (Steven) White of South Elgin, IL; two grandchildren, Brandon and Galen; one great grandson, Everett; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter; five sisters and six brothers.
