Rodney J. Hoskins I, 71, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at his home. He was born on June 17, 1955 in Wichita Falls, TX to Joseph & Alice Ridenour Hoskins. He married Maurine Brotherton on June 17, 1978. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2000. He then married Terri A. Fields on August 31, 2008. He worked at the Iowa State Penitentiary for more than 30 years and served as an engineer in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed Karaoke and reading books.
Rodney is survived by: his wife: Terri Hoskins of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Rodney “RJ” Hoskins II of Fort Madison, IA; 1-step son: Todd Brotherton of Georgia; 4-step daughters: Nancy Ogg, Rita Johnson, Alice Washburn-Hobb & LeAnn Washburn; several grandchildren & great grandchildren and 3-sisters: Janet Roberts, Jessica Thrasher & Nancy Meppenlink. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison.
