Marilyn Margaret Leveling, 88, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison. She was born on December 15, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, IA to Loren & Margaret Beery Turbett. She was a homemaker and a lunch lady at the junior high in Fort Madison for 20 years, retiring in 1996. She married John Richard Leveling on August 19, 1956 in Burlington, IA. She enjoyed working outside, shopping, traveling to Arizona, Hawaii and all over the United States. She loved to watch T.V., especially the Cowboys, Hawkeyes & Cubs.
Marilyn is survived by: her husband: John Leveling of Fort Madison, IA; 2-sons: Jerry (Connie) Leveling of Fort Madison, IA & Nick Leveling of Fort Madison, IA; 4-grandchildren: Nichole Leveling of Fort Madison, IA, Michelle Chapman of Riverview, FL, Nolan Leveling of Fort Madison, IA & Nadia Leveling of Fort Madison, IA; 4-great grandchildren: Jackson Leveling, Connor Chapman, Owen Chapman & Kennedy Chapman and 1-brother: Floyd “Pete” (Marlys) Turbett of Mt. Pleasant, IA. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 1-great granddaughter: Everly Chapman, 1-brother: Harold “Terry” Turbett & 1-sister: Martha Mae Turbett.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Dave Poland officiating. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery.
