Betty Lou Armatis Miller, 79, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 9:40 a.m. at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in Burlington, IA. She was born on August 31, 1945 in Clarion, IA, one of 14 children to Frank John & Mildred (Gray) Armatis, Jr. On December 18, 1965, she married Alan Miller in Rockwell, IA. They were married for 60 years this past December. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2024. She graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School and worked for Park Clinic in Mason City, IA before becoming an in-home health aide. She enjoyed boating, camping and loved being outdoors with her husband and spending time with her cat.
Betty is survived by: 1-son: Troy (Alison) Miller of Danville, IA; 1-daughter: Stephany (Nick) Helms of Donnellson, IA; her beloved cat, Cassie; 7-grandchildren: Trent Miller, Josey (Anthony) Markey, Joslyn Hawk, Alissa (Cory Hall) Miller, Tristan (Courtney) Miller, Ashley (Seth) Krogmeier & Brittney Helms; 10-great grandchildren & 1-on the way; 1-brother in law: Larry (Connie) Miller of Mason City, IA; sisters: Jane (Bob) Sturges of Clear Lake, IA, & Peggy Hagge of Fon du lac, WI; brothers: Frank (Kathy) Armatis of Henderson, NV, Den (Vicki) Armatis of Beaumont, CA & Don (Deb) Armatis of Rockwell, IA and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, sisters: Gloria, Janice, Pam, Annette & Shirley, brothers Terry & Todd and 1-niece: Anna.
