Catherine “Kitty” Winke, 85, of Ft. Madison passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 3:05 AM at The Kensington.
  She was born on January 16, 1940 in Detroit, MI to Paul and Laura Gaedke Hillebrand.  On April 16, 1966 she married Fred Winke and he passed away on June 5, 2022.  Kitty graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Monroe, MI in 1958 and the Detroit School of Practical Nursing in 1964 where she received her LPN.  Kitty came to Burlington to help her sister, Lorena Kivlahan with her second daughter.  A blind date with Fred was arranged by Lorena on August 5, 1965 and she and Fred were married on April 16, 1966.  She was a member of Holy Family Parish. Kitty enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her friends and traveling around the world.  Most of all Kitty cherished the time she got to spend with her family over the years.
  Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth (Scott) Kolany of Palatine, IL, Peggy (Tom) Delaney of Downers Grove, IL and Dr. Paula (Paul) Stokstad of East Lansing, MI; one son, Fritz (Angie) Winke of Alexandria, LA; eight grandchildren, Amelia, Jillian, Charlie, Jack, Erika, Sonja, Andrew & Jude; one sister, Mary Margaret Hillebrand of Southfield, MI; nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters Lorena Kivlahan and Jane Hillebrand.
  Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will meet with friends from 10-11 AM on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church and the funeral mass will follow at 11 AM with Reverend Gary Beckman officiating.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
