Donovan M. Steenberg, 32, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at his home after a two-year battle with Leukemia.  When he was first diagnosed, his greatest concern was for his family & friends, that big hearted nature continued to the end.  He was born on July 8, 1992 in Keokuk, IA to Michael & LaVinia Hewitt Steenberg.  He was a caretaker and loved car shows, John Candy Movies & classic rock bands, especially the Eagles.  His three loves were the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and classic Mopar cars. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh and feel good.  Donovan may have lost his battle with Leukemia, but his spirit courageously won the war.
Donovan is survived by: his mother & little ma: LaVinia (Vicki) Ray of Fultondale, AL; father: Michael Steenberg of Keokuk, IA; 2-sisters: Kyra Snyder of Bowen, IL & Jess (Christopher) Sutcliffe of Fort Madison, IA; 2-nephews: Clayton Snyder & William Sutcliffe; his best friend: Sheila Gnann and her children, Ianna & Leon.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A private family celebration of life will be held at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory by specific invitation of the family only.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and may be sent directly to St. Jude’s or mailed to Jess Sutcliffe, 2142 303rd Avenue, Fort Madison, IA 52627.  Online condolences to Donovan’s family may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website: www.kinglynk.com.  Donovan had a favorite joke and would want everyone to have one last laugh: What do you call a cow with no legs…ground beef! Please consider donating blood or platelets in Donovan’s memory.
