Earlene M. Jones, 97, of Keosauqua, IA and formerly of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Keosauqua Health Care Center.
She was born on November 30, 1927 in Ft. Madison to Earl and Catherine Freeman Owens. On July 18, 1948 she married Leon Jones in Ft. Madison. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2015. Earlene worked at Sheaffer Pen Company with twenty-five years of service and was a member of Community of Christ Church. She enjoyed computing, taking bus trips, playing the organ at her church and she was an avid reader.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Jones of Kansas City, KS; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and nieces and nephews including, Sharon Carr of Keosauqua. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Katherine Bannon, one brother, Lyle Owens and one sister, Ruby Lottie Owens Beatty.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A graveside service will be on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 10 AM at Oakland Cemetery with Pastor Steve DePriest officiating.
