King-Lynk Funeral Home obituary - Eileen F. Vorwaldt, 84, West Point

Eileen F. Vorwaldt, 84, of West Point, IA, and formerly of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 5:30 AM at the West Point Care Center.
She was born on July 18, 1940 in St. Paul to Lloyd and Catherine Walljasper Grelk.  On June 7, 1958 Eileen married Junior Vorwaldt in St. Paul, IA and he passed away on January 31, 2005.  Eileen helped her husband work on the farm, was an Avon consultant and also was a cook at the West Point Care Center for over fifteen years and was known to her co-workers and the residents as the best cook they ever had.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, the Donnellson Saddle Club and was a member of the Iowa Draft Horse Hall of Fame.  Eileen also enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, sewing and doing needlework.
  Survivors include four sons, Randy (Johnita) Vorwaldt of Ft. Madison, Craig Vorwaldt of Ft. Madison, Howard (Diana) Vorwaldt of Wever and Roland (Grace) Vorwaldt of Ft. Madison;  six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Umbarger of Mt. Vernon, IA; three  brothers, Gary Grelk of Winfield, Kenny Grelk of Ft. Madison, and Bob Grelk of Houghton; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Duane, Norbert, Anthony and Paul; one sister, Barbara Guinther and a great grandson, Hunter Vorwaldt.
  There will be a rosary recited at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 followed by visitation from 4-6 PM all at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Rev. Dan Dorau officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
