King-Lynk Funeral Home obituary - Jesse R. Juarez, Sr., 68, Ft. Madison

Jesse R. Juarez, Sr. 68 of Ft. Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 6:55 PM at Birkwood Village in Ft. Madison.

    He was born on November 25, 1954 in Chicago, IL to Jesse and Calletana “Kay” Limas Juarez.  Jesse worked for the Ft. Madison Fire Department from 1975-1986 and then was an EMT Paramedic Supervisor until 1998.  He then worked at KBKB as a disc jockey until his retirement in 1999.  Jesse was the Master of Ceremonies of the Mexican Fiesta for numerous years and also volunteered for Muscular Dystrophy Association and Riverfest.  He was the co-founder of Purple Star Productions and enjoyed drawing cartoons, photography and working on electronics.  Most of all, spending time with his family was most important to him.

   Survivors include two daughters, Jamie (Randy) Grisham of Donnellson and Candice Connolly of Des Moines; three sons, Michael (Sara) Juarez of Burlington, NC; Joel Davis of Donnellson and  Jesse (Meagan) Juarez, Jr. of Ft. Madison; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild;  one brother, Dan (Lauri) Juarez of Kewanee, IL and one sister, Rochelle (Eric) McGruder of Marion, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Juarez.

   The family will meet with friends from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  Following visitation his body will be cremated and burial will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
