Marilynn S. Ort, 98, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 5:23 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison. She was born on January 29, 1927 in Fort Madison, IA to Harvey & Margaret Hughes Hasenclever. She married Charles F. Ort on June 27, 1948 in Fort Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2015. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star in Iowa & New Mexico, the Columbus City Improvement Club and the Sunshine Club in her younger years. She enjoyed quilting, playing pool & gardening.
Marilynn is survived by: 1-daughter: Patricia Ort-Poore of Columbus City, IA; 2-sons: Cliff (Pat) Ort of Sturgis, MI & Bill (Ellen) Ort of Lovington, NM; 10-grandchildren; several great grandchildren & several great great grandchildren; 1-brother: Bob (Mariellis) Hasenclever of rural Fort Madison, IA; 2-sisters: Alice Horstman & Ginny Bonar both of Fort Madison, IA. She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, 2-sisters: Martha Mueller & Janette Benzing & 1-brother: Frank Hasenclever.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Chad Savage officiating. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Madison, IA.
