King-Lynk Funeral Home obituary - Marin M. Rose, 19, Fort Madison

Marin Michael Rose, 19, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in rural Mt. Pleasant as a result of a traffic accident.
He was born on January 24, 2006 in Ft. Madison to Greg and Vickie Couchman Rose.  Marin was a 2024 graduate of Ft. Madison where he played basketball, football, and attended his friend’s events. He was an avid Miami Dolphins and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.  Marin was a transportation driver for the Iowa National Guard Unit 1133rd Transportation Company serving out of the detachment in Iowa City and was loved by all of his 1133rd brothers and sisters and a student at SCC.  He enjoyed golfing, going on drives and was an avid gamer and loved his PS5 like a baby.  He was infatuated with the weather and was the first one to check out an upcoming storm and notify his family about what might be coming.  Marin always had the biggest smile on his face and gave the best hugs.  Most of all he loved spending time with all of his family and friends. Marin will always be remembered for his beautiful and kind soul that could light up a room. He was our beloved Mare Bear.   
Survivors include his father, Greg (Brandy Myers) Rose of West Burlington; his mother, Vickie (Jim) Kautzky of Ft. Madison; four brothers, Austin (Lexi) Rose of San Angelo, TX and his niece Ansley Rose, Nathan (Aleana Bohnenkamp)Rose of Ft. Madison, Ryen Rose of West Burlington and Bentley Cosby of West Burlington; one sister, Emma (Josh Fritzjunker) Rose of Burlington; nephew, Andrew Kautzky of Perry, IA; his girlfriend, Gracie Blind of Ft. Madison; his grandmothers, Sharon Couchman of Burlington, Ann Hartman of Adel, GA  and Kathy Myers of Burlington and numerous friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ray Couchman and Ron Rose, a stepsister, Laura Kautzky and his beloved German Shephard Rocky.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 3-6 PM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Ft. Madison, IA.  A funeral service will follow at 6 PM with Rev. Chad Savage officiating.  Military rites will be performed by Iowa Army Honor Guard.  A memorial has been established in his memory and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
