Mary Ellen (Sheets) Dalrymple, 84, of Centerville, IA, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025 in Centerville, IA. She was born on February 27, 1941 in Fort Madison, IA to Earl & Gloria Mae (Copeland) Sheets. She worked at the Sheaffer Pen Company before she retired and enjoyed going to the river and watching the pelicans, cross stitching, crocheting, playing euchre at the senior center, going to farmers markets and much more.
Mary Ellen is survived by: her ex-husband: Howard Dalrymple, 4-daughters: Carmen Vancil, Diana Strode, Lori Darrow & Barbara Lake, 1-son: Jay Dalrymple, 16-grandchildren, 22-great grandchildren, 1-great great granddaughter, 3-siblings: Kenny, Ralph & Richard Sheets and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 2-brothers: David & Roy Sheets and 2-sisters: Linda Nicholson & Pat Powelson.
Her body has been cremated and a burial will be held at 10:00 am. On Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison, IA.
