Patrick Joseph Krogmeier, 89, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2026 at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison. He was born on March 29, 1937 in Fort Madison, IA to James John & Alice June Cairy Krogmeier. He married Joyce K. Jones on July 21, 1962 in Niota, IL. He was a lifelong farmer and was very proud of it. He also worked as a school bus driver for 20 years for the Fort Madison Community School District. He was a member of the Fort Madison United Methodist Church and was an avid supporter of Hope Haven and Hopefully Yours for many years. He was a stamp collector and seller and enjoyed dancing with his wife, Joyce.
Pat is survived by: his wife: Joyce Krogmeier of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Gina (Scott) Lemon of Oregon; 1-son: Perry Krogmeier of Kentucky; 5-grandchildren: Nicole (George) Schukow, Jessica (Eric) Wysong, Jennifer Hansen, Cory (Nicole) Krogmeier & Katie Krogmeier; 5-great grandchildren: Dimitri, Anya, Addy, Logan & Elena; 3-sisters: Mary Jo Watson of Coralville, IA, Sally Meller of Phoenix, AZ & Rose Mary (Tony) Hoenig of Davenport, IA and 1-brother: Charlie (Nancy) Krogmeier of Coralville, IA. He was preceded in death by: his parents, 1-daughter: Kristine Krogmeier & 1-brother: Dennis Krogmeier.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nancy St. Clair officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Pat’s memory.
