Robert "Robbie" John Gurzenda-Blindt, 43, passed away at his home in the early morning hours of February 15th, 2025. He was born in St. Helen, Michigan on September 22nd, 1981.
Robbie was survived by his beautiful daughter Danica; best friends Mandy Allen, Walter Becerra and Drew Stanton; bonus sons Eryk (Jessica Cook) Allen of Nashville, TN; and Afton (Sydne Stinnett) Becerra of Quincy, IL; bonus daughter Natalie Becerra; close friend Abby Womack and her son Benny, who saw to Robbie as a father figure and best bud; two brothers: Nic (Haley) Blindt and Joe (Kandi Clark) Blindt; sister Katy (Dakota Oberman) Blindt; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Gina Blindt; father Robert John Gurzenda; and fraternal grandparents: Sgt. Ted Gurzenda and Geraldine Gurzenda.
As a devoted dad, Robbie's world revolved around Danica, making sure she had everything she needed and making memories with her just about every day. He was an avid thrift shopper, always trying to find that vintage toy or comic for his collection. He loved spending time with family and helping people when they needed it most.
Being the one that always smiled, those closest to him never failed to find him always making jokes, even in the hardest of times, he would find light in the toughest situations, reminding us all "don't sweat the small stuff, because it's just small stuff." Having the huge heart he had and being an equal partner in a blended family, he not only took care of Danica, but also the bonus kids he earned along the way.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. There is a GoFundMe under “Robbie GB’s Funeral Expenses” set up to help with expenses and to start a trust fund for Danica.
Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com
