King-Lynk Funeral Home obituary - Rodney M. Rogers, 88, Fort Madison

Rodney M. Rogers, 88 of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Oak View Nursing & Rehab facility in Burlington, IA. He was born on November 9, 1936, in Quincy, IL, to Roy E. and Maude E. (Russell) Rogers (both deceased). He graduated from Quincy High School and earned a B.S. from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University). He served as an MP in the United States Army as well as the Army Reserves. He married Dorothy C. Kemner on April 29, 1961, in Quincy, IL. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2010.
Rod was a Professional Golf Association Pro at Westview Golf Course in Quincy, Il, the Fort Madison Country Club and Sheaffer Golf Course in Fort Madison. He was a lifetime member of the PGA of America. Rod was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and loved golf, fishing, travel and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Rod is survived by three children. Michael, his wife Tammera Rogers, William Rogers, and Mary Ann Rogers-Ping. He was the proud grandfather to William’s child, Sean, and Mary Ann’s three children, Alexandra, her husband Alex Petersen, Michaela Ping and Rachel Ping. He was delighted to be a great-grandfather to Caden Petersen.
