Sandra “Kay” Eaves, 83, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 6:48 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on March 25, 1943 in Henrietta, MO to Myrald W. & Levada H. Tedrow Marsh. She married Jack Edward Eaves on August 19, 1961 in Fort Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2020. She worked at Jacks and later ShopKo Stores in Fort Madison for 40 years. She was a member of Joy Baptist Church and enjoyed playing sudoku, solitaire and watching wildlife out her window.
Kay is survived by: 2-sons: Kurt (Angie) Eaves of Grinnell, IA & Kevin Eaves of Fort Madison, IA; 4-grandchildren: Ian Eaves, Chelci Eaves Mehaffy, Erica Place & Alyssa Johnson; 5-great grandchildren: Genevieve Ruble, Gabrielle Ruble, Grace Eaves, Colt Johnson & Wesson Johnson and 1-sister: Carolyn Weber of Denmark, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Earl Beal officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in rural Fort Madison. A memorial has been established in Kay’s memory.
