Sharon M. Hayes, 81, of Donnellson, IA, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, IA. She was born on April 13, 1944 in Keokuk, IA to Delbert & Juanita Blakeslee Kemper. She married Carl M. Hayes on October 5, 1962 in Montrose, IA. She was a school bus driver for 25 years for the Central Lee School District and a co-owner and operator of Carl Hayes Welding. She was a member of Living Hope Church of the Nazarene in Fort Madison and enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by: her husband: Carl Hayes of Donnellson, IA; 4-children: Debbie (Terry) Schrader of Donnellson, IA, Peggy (Dee) Hudson of Flossmoor, IL, Jim (Theresa) Hayes of Fort Madison, IA & Mike Hayes of Fort Madison, IA; 9-grandchildren; 5-great grandchildren & 2 on the way; 3-sisters: Juanita Wells of Donnellson, IA, Vi Howell of Yellville, AR & Connie (Delbert) Kramer of Franklin, IA & 1-brother: John (Linda) Kemper of Montrose, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents & 4-siblings: Bill, Delbert, Margie & Patty.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. She will be cremated following the visitation. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Preston Smith officiating. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison. A memorial has been established for the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene.
