Terry J. Hobbs, 78, of West Point, IA, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 5:54 AM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
He was born on January 9, 1947 in Ft. Madison to Ernest and Edith Boring Hobbs. Terry married Vicky Wilson and they later divorced. Terry worked construction for sixteen years and then ran a printing press at Burrows and retired after twenty years of service. Terry proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed his garden and was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing. Terry found his greatest peace being surrounded by nature. He was a stranger to no one and would help anyone in need.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristi (John) Dolan of Henderson, NV and Terrina Hobbs of Houghton, IA; one son, William “BJ” (Carissa) Hobbs of Canton, GA; two granddaughters, Olivia and Kelsey. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ernest Hobbs Jr. and Gerald Hobbs, two nieces and one nephew.
Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will host a celebration of life for friends and family on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 4-7 PM at his home, all are welcome. A private family burial will be in Soldiers’ Circle, Oakland Cemetery.
