FORT MADISON – The Fort Madison Lady Hounds captured third in the Burlington Notre Dame Invitational Tuesday to highlight area girls' golf action.
The Bloodhounds finished with 432 on Burlington’s Flint Hills, 18-holes behind Highland’s 384 and Louisa-Muscatine’s 424.
Lauryn Helmick led Fort Madison with an even 100. Kylie Lumino shot a 104 and Natalie Wright carded a 113. Tatum Peters shot a 115 to round out the Bloodhound scoring.
On Monday at Schaefer Memorial, the Lady Hounds took 4th place with a 228 behind Burlington’s 224, Mt. Pleasant’s 221, and Keokuk’s 210 at the 9-hole back-nine event. Helmick shot a 47 to lead the Lady Hounds at the Fort Madison Invitational, good enough for fifth overall.
Burlington’s Lauren Briggs was medalist with a 37. Mt. Pleasant’s Kylie Walderbach was runner-up with a 43. Lucy Arevalo shot a 58 and Lumino shot a 61 for the Hounds.
