Lady Hounds take title at Mediapolis

Boys run at Mt. Pleasant; girls at Mepo Thursday

FORT MADISON – The Fort Madison Lady Bloodhounds won the Mediapolis Invitational Thursday behind four first-place finishes, three individual, and relay squad.
Hailey Kemper had two top finishes – winning the 100-meter hurdles at 18.03, and in the 400 hurdles at 1:13.21. Mara Smith took first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:35.05 and the girls' 4x800 meter relay team of Avery Rump, Smith, Addison Rump, and McKayla Schinstock with a time of 10:18.14.
The Bloodhounds finished with 100 points ahead of a Danville and Pekin for the top three spots. Avery Rump took 2nd in the 1500 meters with a 5:06.53. Addison Rump was third with a pace of 5:34.81. Brylie Lorence earned a silver medal in the shotput with a heave of 38’1.5”. The girls' distance medley relay also earned a second-place finish with a time of 4:40.91.
The boys competed at the non-team scoring Mt. Pleasant Coed Relays.
Caden Barnes threw the shot 48’9”, good enough for first place, while the Hound boys' shuttle hurdle relay team of Adam Sobczak, Kiawante Smith, Gavin Callahan, and Henry Wiseman also took first place with a time of 1:02.45.
The 4x800 relay team of Mason McLey, Peyton Lambert, Riley Tripp, and Nolan Guzman finished at 8:43.71. Brandon Klein earned second place in the wheelchair shotput 12’2 ¼. Klein earned three third-place finishes in the 400 (2:46.40), 200 (1:10.25), and 100 (32.84).
