MONTROSE - Lee County Conservation invites the public to celebrate Earth Day by giving back to the outdoors during a Volunteer Workday on Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 AM to Noon at Heron Bend Conservation Area.
In partnership with the Lee Pheasants Forever chapter, this hands-on event will focus on improving wildlife habitat and enhancing the natural beauty of the area. Volunteers will assist with a variety of projects including park clean-up, waste removal, habitat restoration efforts, and maintenance of the prairie production plot.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to come together, get outside, and make a meaningful impact on our local natural resources,” said Heather Huebner, LCCB Director. “Whether you’re passionate about conservation or just looking for a way to celebrate Earth Day, we welcome everyone to join us.”
Following the workday, participants are invited to stay and enjoy a free BBQ lunch provided by Lee County Pheasants Forever.
Individuals, families, and groups of all ages are encouraged to participate—no prior experience is necessary.
