LEE COUNTY – The Lee County Leadership Program proudly celebrated the graduation of its 2026 class on May 14th, recognizing ten individuals who completed the program’s eight-month leadership development experience focused on community growth, collaboration, and civic engagement.
The Lee County Leadership Program brings together professionals from across the county to strengthen leadership skills, encourage regional connections, and inspire participants to become active contributors within their communities. The program is a collaborative effort between the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce, Lee County Economic Development Group, and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Lee County.
Throughout the program year, participants explored topics including leadership development, community challenges, communication, social capital, and strategic visioning. Sessions featured local industry tours, guest speakers, interactive discussions, and hands-on learning experiences designed to provide a deeper understanding of Lee County and the opportunities shaping its future.
Participants also traveled to Des Moines during Southeast Iowa Days, where they connected with legislators, statewide leaders, and regional advocates while gaining firsthand insight into state government and policy discussions impacting Southeast Iowa communities.
