Local authors looking for history

FORT MADISON - Your family can become a part of history! Another book highlighting people of the area is in the works.
Authored by Kathy Burkhardt and Krys Plate, the book will feature the early people of Lee County.
After finishing their first book, Images of America: Fort Madison, they wanted to expand into the whole of Lee County. Chapters include Early Settlers, Wonderful Women, Military Burials, Everyday People, and Mayhem and Mystery, just to name a few.
They are looking for anyone willing to share photos and stories about their families. The only stipulation is that the people must be buried in Lee County prior to 1980. They will consider photos of good quality and the donor will be given photo credit.
