FORT MADISON – There is no new information that would shed light into a shooting incident that claimed the life of a 16-year-old Fort Madison boy just more than a month ago.
Fort Madison Police Chief and Lee County Attorney Ross Braden both confirmed Monday that there was no new information regarding the incident that took place in the early morning hours of March 12 at a home on 10th Street across from Central Park in Fort Madison.
The boy died from a gunshot wound to the chest. Officials have said there is no threat to the general public.
Fort Madison Police, along with Lee County Sheriff's Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, have been working on the investigation. Lee County EMS Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
An autopsy was conducted that week, but details of that report have not been released to the public.
