FORT MADISON - Event Chair Sheryl Decker announced on May 17 the exciting summer line-up the Old Settlers Association has planned for their 25th anniversary of free summer music concerts. Food will be served beginning at 4:30 pm and concerts are 5-8 p.m nightly.
Friday June 12 - “Switchback” from Woodstock, Illinois will return with their Americana and Celtic Soul tour. Dennis Seyb, Lee County Pork Producers will be on site grilling pork loin sandwiches and the Fort Madison Lions Club members have volunteered their time to serve the meal alongside OSA members.
Friday, July 24th will bring back by popular demand “Richie Lee & The Fabulous 50’s as well as the Pen City Cruisers Classic Car Show so bring your dancing shoes!
Sunday, August 16 - A new band will be featured at Sponsor Recognition Night. Decker said “LMNOP” had informed us after 25 years of playing music, they were retiring in late April.
"We had listened to a band “The Boys” at Turnwater Bar & Grill last July 4 and I brought home their business card to try to book them for our 2027 concert season," Decker said.
"We thought “The Boys” light rock and country music genre would tie in nicely as we gear up for the Tri State Rodeo in September, so they will be joining us this season. They are a five-piece band featuring local artist Brian Peterschmidt on drums, Lee Klett, vocals and rhythm guitar, Adam Klett vocals and acoustic guitar, Rick Holmes - Bass, and Jake Burington onlead guitar.
"We are very excited to bring new entertainment to Old Settlers Park and our Elks Lodge will be volunteering to serve our guests."
The concerts are made possible due to the cooperation of Fort Madison City Parks Department. who help prepare the grounds for our events. Menus will be announced with press releases prior to all concerts. Seating is available or you may bring a lawn chair or blanket. Rainout location will once again be at the United Methodist Church on 9th Street & Avenue E.
Sponsors are still coming in so OSA will announce the 2026 music sponsors on June 1st. Official sponsors provide the entertainment, while proceeds of the food sales help maintain and improve Old Settlers Park for everyone’s enjoyment.
