Carol M. Griswold-Salli, 80, of Schenectady, passed away on June 2, 2025, at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center.
Born December 3, 1944, in Fort Madison, IA, to the late Morris and Irene (Britton) Griswold, Carol began her career at Sheaffer Pen Company before proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force.
She later worked for BOCES for over 20 years, supporting students with severe disabilities.
Carol was an active member of the American Legion Post 1091, serving as Chaplain and Historian.
She enjoyed reading, genealogy, puzzles, and playing cards. She and her husband, Thomas, shared a love for canoeing, golfing, and summers at their camp on Sacandaga.
She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Jo Creen. Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Thomas; son, Dominic (wife Marissa) Salli; grandsons, Danilo and Stefano who gave her great joy; brother, Michael Griswold; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Creen; nephew, James Creen; and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. Interment immediately following in the Gerald B.H. National Cemetery.
