Rose Lee Clark Berry Davidson, 86, of Peoria, IL formerly of Edelstein, IL, and Hot Springs Village, AR passed away at 11:07 pm Wednesday, March 18, 2025, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Rose was born at home in Davenport, IA on April 17, 1938, the daughter of Dale and Grace McNaught Clark. On Jan. 9, 1956, she married William Stephen “Steve” Berry in Dallas City, IL. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1992. On June 27, 1998, she married Thomas E. “Sonny” Davidson in Chillicothe, IL. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2011.
Rose was a member of the Dallas City High School Class of 56. Rose worked at different jobs through the years, but helping Steve with his Berry Tax and Accounting business was her favorite job of all. Rose was a devoted member of St. Edward's Catholic Church in Chillicothe, IL. Rose enjoyed traveling the US with Sonny and spending the winter in warm locations.
Rose's pride and joy was her grandson and great-granddaughters. Survivors include, one daughter, Sheila (David) Robertson of Hot Springs Village, AR; her grandson, Jason (Melissa) Catton; and two great-granddaughters, Aurelia Rose and Ella Mae Catton, all of Peoria, IL; one foster son, Benjamin Conway of West Palm Beach, FL; four brothers, Dennis McNaught of Covina, CA, Curtis (Sue) Clark of Sacramento, CA, Dale (Judy) Clark of Donnellson, IA, and Nick Clark; four sisters, Sandy Penrod of Ft Madison, IA, LaVeta Smith, LaVera (Gary) Leebold, and Sheryl Clark, all of Dallas City, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one sister, Sylvia “Sally” Clark; and two brothers, Montray Clark and Larry Clark.
Cremation was accorded, graveside services, and burial will be held at Princeville Township Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on May 24, 2025. A Celebration of life is also be planned for Rose at a later date.
