Susan Diane Hines, 60, a resident of Bonaparte, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Bonaparte United Church in Bonaparte. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Bonaparte Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bonaparte Fire and EMS or the Bonaparte Cemetery Association and sent to P.O. Box 37, Bonaparte, Iowa 52620. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is caring for Susan and her family.
Susan was born August 5, 1966 in Keosauqua, the daughter of Lyle and Charla (Carson) Williams. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1984.
Throughout her life, Susan worked at the Bonaparte Retreat, Stuke in Houghton, Riverside Plastics in Bonaparte, and for many years at Troutman Transportation in Bonaparte.
Susan loved thrifting, taking trips to the casinos, and making her famous late-night runs to Walmart. She had a special fondness for Raggedy Ann dolls and enjoyed collecting them. Above all, Susan cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, who brought her great joy and happiness.
Those left to honor her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Colten and Taylor Hines of Tiffin, Iowa; grandchildren, Camden, Kinzley and Kaden; brother, Alan (Cortney) Williams of Somerset, Wisconsin; sister, Lori (Steve) Loyd of Bonaparte; nephews, Jordy Loyd, Jake Miller, Andrew Williams, and Brady Williams; and goddaughter, Tylisa (Christian) Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle Williams, and Charla and Charlie Warner.
