WEST POINT - Lee County Conservation has made the difficult decision to cancel the annual Halloween HOOT, which was scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Pollmiller Park.
The cancellation is due to the ongoing construction of the new Pollmiller Beach Concession & Bathroom Facility, combined with limited staff capacity this fall. While we understand this event has become a favorite tradition for many families, ensuring the safety of our visitors and successfully completing this important improvement project must remain our top priorities.
Construction of the new facility represents a significant investment in the future of Pollmiller Park and will provide improved visitor amenities for years to come. During construction, portions of the park will experience increased equipment activity, restricted access, and operational challenges that make hosting a large public event impractical.

"We know many families look forward to Halloween HOOT each year, and this was not a decision we made lightly," said Lee County Conservation Director Heather Huebner. "We appreciate everyone's understanding as we work to complete this exciting project. We look forward to bringing Halloween HOOT back in 2027 with even better facilities for our visitors."
Lee County Conservation encourages families to continue enjoying the county's parks throughout the fall season and to watch our website and social media pages for upcoming programs and events.
