Michael “Mike” Keith Delaney, 57, of New Boston, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at his home.
Mike was born on December 19, 1968, in Anaheim, California, the son of Dennis and Barbara (Shaw) Delaney. He graduated from Mohave High School in Arizona and went on to work in sound and light production in Las Vegas for several years. Later in his career, he was employed at Roquette in Keokuk before going to work at Koch fertilizer in 2015. On July 20, 2024, he was united in marriage to Jennifer Andrews, she survives.
Mike was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. He also loved golfing and playing the drums. To Mike, family was everything. He loved spending time with them and going on spontaneous trips. He also enjoyed shopping. Mike was one-of-a-kind, a man with a great sense of humor who was never afraid to speak his mind. His generosity and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his wife Jennifer Delaney of New Boston; his mother Barbara Delaney of Bullhead City, Arizona; three children: Tyler Mahaffey and Roni Delaney, both of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Jaxson Delaney of New Boston, Iowa; step-son Dylan Eid of Fort Madison, Iowa; his grandson Elijah; his sister Carri (Gary) Ferris of Bullhead City, Arizona; his brother Mark (Lesha) Delaney of Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law: Sandy Andrews and Bobbie-Jo (Justin) Neale of Spanaway, Washington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike is preceded in death by his father Dennis Delaney and his father-in-law David Andrews.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 pm, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, October 2, 2026, at DeJong-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at DeJong-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in rural Keokuk. Additional visitation time will be held from 12 to 1 pm on Saturday directly before the service.
Memorials may be directed to the family for Jaxson’s education.
