Norma “Jean” Brilon, 84, of Keokuk, IA passed away on February 8, 2025.
Jean was born at home in Keokuk, IA to Margaret Neuweg Walte and John L. Walte on February 5, 1941. Jean’s Dad died when she was 3 years old and her mom later married Les Teller.
Jean graduated from the St. Peter’s High School in Keokuk in 1958. Bob and Jean Brilon were married in 1959 and were together for 57 years until his passing in March 2017.
She worked with husband, Bob Brilon, starting in 1985 when they started Bob Brilon Motors. Bob and Jean sold Bob Brilon Motors on Main Street in 2000 and retired. In their retirement, Bob and Jean went to Arizona for at least three months of every year until 2015.
Bob and Jean loved their trips to the Ozarks with their immediate family in their earlier years and then with their extended family in later years. Jean was a member of Southside Boat Club and Keokuk Yacht Club.
Jean enjoyed volunteering and serving for organizations such as All Saints Church, Lady’s of Charity, Keokuk Planning and Zoning Committee, the Dam Museum, the First Mates and many more.
Jean is survived by her son, Bobby (wife Shara) Brilon in Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughters, Christine (husband Archie) Logan of Fort Madison and Lori Brilon of Keokuk; 5 grandchildren, William Logan (wife, Heather) of Phoenix, AZ., Tori Logan Smith (Husband, Jeff) of Neskowin, OR and Jenna Brilon and Jadyn Brilon; in Arizona and Jacey Brilon in Plano, TX. 6 Great-grandchildren, Leilani , William “Ace”, Belle, Ruby Logan of Phoenix, AZ and Maxwell “Max” and Penelope “Poppy” Smith in Neskowin, OR.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to their neighbors, the Neff family, for always being there for their parents and especially for Jean after Bob passed in 2017.
There will be a private graveside service at Oakland Cemetery followed by a celebration of life for friends and family at the Keokuk Yacht Club from 1pm – 3 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Saints church and the Dam Museum.
