Kevin Lynn Asbridge, 66, of Muncie, Indiana formerly of Hamilton, Illinois, passed away at 1:42 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie following complications from a lengthy illness.
He was born April 6, 1959, at Graham Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Evelyn (Bolton) Asbridge.
He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1977, and the carpentry program at Southeastern Community College in 1979. He was employed by Harley Trautvetter Construction for many years. He later worked as a railroad conductor for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Fort Madison. He moved to the Kansas City area to work as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad following a railroad merger.
Kevin enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, Western Illinois Threshers, model railroads, and photography.
He married Roberta McDaniel of Carthage, Illinois in 1986. They had two children, Kaitlyn and Ryan. They later divorced.
Kevin married Susan Rex of Kansas City, Missouri in 2015. They later moved to Muncie, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife Susan; daughter Kaitlyn; son Ryan Asbridge,; stepchildren: Brittany (Tony) Mekelburd, Brooklyn (Tim) Elvart, and Cade Hughes.
Local survivors include brothers: Kerry (Jeri) Asbridge of Hamilton and Kris (Cheryl)Asbridge of Keokuk; an uncle Charles Bolton of Bowen; nephew Kane Asbridge; nieces: Summer (Adam Wallace) Allensworth and their two daughters, Alisha Rudd - Chayer and her three boys. Also surviving are numerous cousins and loyal friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Oak Grove Cemetery north of Hamilton at Golden’s Point.
Memorials have been established in his memory for Western Illinois Threshers.
