Calvin R. Bollin, 78, of Nauvoo, Illinois, passed away at 12:11 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2026 near Nauvoo. 
He was born on June 21, 1948 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Ralph Dort and Dorothy Veronica (Wilkins) Bollin. On September 11, 1976 he married Monica Denning, they later divorced. On September 20, 2002 he married Brenda Busby Fitzjarrald.
Survivors include his wife Brenda; two daughters: Marjorie (Todd) Schmitt, Rebecca (Chris) Priest; son Ron (Karee Robinson) Bollin; grandchildren: Charlie, Erika, Eleanor, Jackson, Claudia, Piper, Kinley; two sisters: Martha Goetz, Doris (Jim) Duvendack; sister-in-law Cathy Bollin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Craig Bollin; and brother-in-law James Goetz.
Calvin was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo, the Nauvoo Knights of Columbus Alleman Council, and was a United States Marines Veteran. After a lifetime of farming, he traded the big tractor for a riding mower and kept busy outdoors doing yard work around Nauvoo. Calvin enjoyed his grandchildren, reading the newspaper, watching Illini basketball, and listening to live music.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2026 at Schmitz-Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo, where the family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo with Father Tony Trosley as celebrant.
Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. 
A memorial has been established in his memory for the Nauvoo Knights of Columbus.
