WIEMANN
Michael L. “Mike” Wiemann, 74, of Nauvoo, passed away at 11:34 A.M. Tuesday December 24, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison.
Born May 21, 1950 in Burlington, Iowa the son of Ronald and Wanda (Wadden) Wiemann.
On July 10, 1976 at the First Christian Church in Fort Madison he married Sandy (Schneider) Pilkington.
Survivors include his wife Sandy of Nauvoo, two sons: Cody (Bethany) Wiemann of Kahoka, Missouri and Rick Pilkington of Canton Missouri; daughter Tammy (Bill) Hart of Kirkwood, Illinois. Five grandchildren: Justin and Shealin Wiemann, Taylor( Nick) Smidt, Wyatt Wilkerson and Brenton Pilkington. Eight great grandchildren, and four siblings: Jim (Liz) Wiemann, Jeff (Jane) Wiemann, Sara (Tim) Cook and Lori (Buck) Brockett. In addition many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Marlo; brother Pat; and daughter-in-law Valerie.
Mike graduated from Fort Madison High School. He worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 42 years. After he retired from the railroad he worked for West Central FS in Colusa and LaHarpe.
He was a member of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo and the Alleman Council #1853 Knights of Columbus. Mike enjoyed camping, boating, helping with fundraisers at the Knights of Columbus, and visiting with his family. He especially loved his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the Schmitz - Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary recited at 2:30 P.M.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday December 30, 2024 at the Schmitz - Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo with Fr. Tony Trosley officiating.
Burial will be in the Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
