Dana Harold McPherson, 69, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away at 12:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
He was born on March 29, 1956 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Ardith Pearl and Niki F. (Roberts) McPherson. On February 26, 2023, he married Kathy Higgins in Fort Madison, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife Kathy; three sons: Jason (Stacy) McPherson of New London, Iowa, Dustin McPherson of Fort Madison, Iowa, Dakota (Tabby) McPherson of Fort Madison, Iowa; three daughters: Tonya (Phay) Cam of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Melanie Phillips of Galesburg, Illinois, Heather Hunter of Fort Madison, Iowa; 2 step-children: Taitha Kemper of Fort Madison, Iowa, Allen Penrod of Fort Madison, Iowa; twenty four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; four siblings: Randy (Patty) McPherson of West Burlington, Iowa, Jan (Amy) McPherson of Mediapolis, Iowa, Tina Henry of Burlington, Iowa, Roger McPherson of Tempe, Arizona; and two step-siblings: Wynn (Stacy) McPherson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Tracey McPherson of Iowa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Craig Henry Sr.
Dana worked as a welder for Case Company. He was a Veteran in the United States Army. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Union Local #807. He enjoyed driving his Camaro, motorcycles, shooting guns, and his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 21, 2026 at Vinnie’s Long-branch in Fort Madison, Iowa.
