Schmitz Funeral Home obituary - Marylin J. Seigfried, 79, Fort Madison

Marylin Jean Siegfried, 79, of Fort Madison, Iowa passed away at 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.
She was born on September 7, 1945 in Oakland, California, the daughter of Samuel and Florence (Mahellieh) Keown. In 1962 she married David Lawson, they later divorced. 
Survivors include two daughters: Bonnie (Scott) Slee of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Becky Lawson of Fort Madison; one son Paul (Amber) Lawson of Fort Madison; eight grandchildren: Ryan, Sonni, Charlie Jo, Tena, Halie, Cody, Savanna, and Sky; eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers: Bill (Chris) Keown and Joe (Kim) Oliver; niece Tiana Oliver; nephew Travis Oliver; and her beloved Chihuahua Dolly.
She is preceded in death by her infant son Richard; parents; step-father Joe Oliver; sister and brother-in-law: Wilma and Ed Williams; and an infant great grandson Noa.
Marylin graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland, California, then attended Southeastern Community College for Accounting. She worked at IAAP, Sheaffer Pen, and retired from J.I. Case as and Accountant and in Human Resources. She served as secretary and volunteer for Hope Haven in Burlington. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, crafts, and  line dancing. She spent twenty five years and Paul’s #1 fan and crew as he raced the midwestern dirt tarcks.
A casual Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Keokuk Yacht Club, 2029 River Road, Keokuk, Iowa 52632.
Memorials have been established in her memory.
