Steven Ray “Steve” Hohl, 60, of Donnellson, Iowa, passed away at 8:11 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at his home.
He was born on January 11, 1966 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Raymond E. and Helen (Oliver) Hohl. On August 10, 1990 he married Tammy Fett in Farmington, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife Tammy Hohl; three children: Adam (Kirsten) Fett, Heather (Josh) Muldoon, Danny (Holly) Muldoon; five granddaughters: Kylee, Kassara, Alexis, Autumn, Olivia; three grandsons: Tate, Sully, Mac; mother Helen Hohl; sisters: Alice Strayer, Janet Hartman, Lois Shirkey; brother Roger Hohl; mother and father-in-law: Sharon and Gary Fett; brother-in-law Tim (Dawn) Fett; and sisters-in-law Toni Fett and Deb Fett. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father; sister Julie; and brothers-in-law Curt Fett, and Robert Strayer.
Steve was a 1984 graduate of Central Lee High School. He was a farmer and worked at the Walmart Warehouse. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. Steve’s cattle and calves were very important to him.
His body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2026 at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson, with Pastor Chad Welch officiating.
A memorial has been established in his memory for Donnellson Fire & Rescue or the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
