LEE COUNTY – The tentative lineups for the 2026 IHSAA/IGHSAU have been released, and Fort Madison and Central Lee are sending athletes to the event. The Hounds and Hawks are both running in the afternoon session this year with 2A teams running each event prior to the 3A squads. Both Thursday and Friday events start at 2 p.m. All classes run in the final events on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
For the Bloodhounds, Avery Rump will be the 9th seed in the 1500-meter run. That final will begin at 2:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon. She is also the 4th seed in the 3000 with the fourth best qualifying time in the state at 10:35.29. That event is set for Thursday at 3:35 p.m.
Charlie Huebner will run in the 400-meter dash finals. Huebner grabbed the final spot in the 24-girl 3A field with a 1:03.39 and a strong kick at Mt. Pleasant’s Class 3A qualifier Thursday night. She will run at 7:10 p.m. in the girls’ finals Thursday night.
The 4x800 relay team of McKayla Schinstock, Addison Rump, Mara Smith, and Avery Rump are seeded 17th for the state meet with a qualifying time of 10:03.62. That event is scheduled for 2A and 3A girls at 5:25 p.m. Thursday.
The girls' Distance Medley team of Mia Mason, Mara Smith, Huebner, and Avery Rump is seeded 13th, six seconds off the top time in the state. That relay is slated for 3 p.m. on Friday.
On the boys’ side, Nolan Guzman is seeded 8th in the open 800 with a time of 1:59.13. That event will kick off at 11:05 Saturday morning.
The boys’ 4x800 team of Mason McLey, Henry Ireland, Riley Tripp, and Guzman have the 3rd best qualifying time and are seeded 3rd in that 3A event, which is slated to begin at 6:10 p.m. Thursday evening starting with 2A. Urijah Brooks will throw in the discus in the second flight starting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Guzman is also seeded 4th in the high jump with his 6’7” leap at Thursday’s qualifier. That field event begins at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Central Lee’s Aubrey Weber will compete in the girls’ discus event in 2A. The girls' 2A field event starts at 2 p.m. on Friday.
