LEE COUNTY - Southeast Iowa is kicking off the summer season in a big way this Memorial Day Weekend with live music, river adventures, festivals, and opportunities to honor our nation’s heroes. Whether you’re looking for family fun, a relaxing cruise on the Mississippi River, or a lively night out with friends, there’s something happening across the region all weekend long.
The excitement begins Friday night at the 19th Annual Back Alley Bandfest in Keokuk’s Cultural & Entertainment District. From 6-9 p.m., live music will fill yards, garages and venues throughout downtown Keokuk, creating an energetic atmosphere for all ages.
On Saturday, enjoy the beauty of the Mississippi River with a 45-minute boat cruise departing from the Fort Madison Marina. It’s the perfect way to relax and celebrate the unofficial start of summer. Reservations can be made through the Fort Madison Tourism Office at 319-371-4682.
