Task force makes arrests

Two county residents arrested on felony drug charges.

LEE COUNTY - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of James Stephen Manganello Sr., age 66, on felony drug charges. Manganello was taken into custody at 2400 block of 140th Street, Lot 34.
Manganello has been charged with Delivery of False Methamphetamine in an amount greater than 5 grams, a Class B Felony under Iowa law.
This arrest stems from an ongoing investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that Manganello was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Lee County area Manganello was placed under arrest by the Lee County Sheriff's Office during an attemp to locate at his residence on his outstanding warrant.
The Task Force also reported the arrest of a Keokuk woman on felony drug charges.
Darlene Gooley, age 58, was arrested on November 19, 2025, at her residence located in the 300 block of  South 19th Street in Keokuk. Gooley was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver more than 5 grams of Methamphetamine, a Class B felony, and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, a Class D felony. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gooley on her outstanding warrants at her residence.
This arrest stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that she was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Lee County area.
The defendants in these case are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice, with funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
