If you’ve been waiting for the perfect fall week to get outside, this is it! The leaves have been fashionably late to the color party this year, but they’re finally showing off in shades of gold, scarlet, and pumpkin spice (yes, even nature’s in on the trend).
This last week of October may just be the final stretch of warmth before we all retreat indoors with fuzzy socks and a good book. So lace up your shoes, grab your camera and apple cider, and make the most of it!
It’s also your last chance to enjoy our local fall farm festivities. Harvestville Farm and Appleberry Orchard wrap up their seasons this Friday, October 31, before taking a well-deserved break to prepare for their winter magic. Hinterland Dairy will stay open until December 20, so there’s still time for cheese & ice cream lovers to stock up before the holidays.
If you’re looking for a scenic stroll or bike ride, head to Rodeo Park, the Park-to-Park District, Riverview Park, Bluff Road or the PORT Trail. Get outside, breathe that crisp fall air, and enjoy every leaf before they all hit the ground—and your rake.
