Treasurer reminds residents property taxes due

LEE COUNTY - Lee County Treasurer, Becky Gaylord, would like to remind property owners that your March, 2026 property tax payments are due by March 1, 2026. To avoid penalties, payments must be received in our office, made online, or be postmarked on or before March 31, 2026. We strongly suggest you use our online payment option www.iowatreasurers.org where you can pay by e-check, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa. A nonrefundable service fee is applicable for online transactions. There is a $45.00 fee for all returned payments.
You may always mail your payment to our office PO Box 346, Fort Madison, IA 52627 or use the drop box on Blondeau street in Keokuk or in the alley behind the county building in Fort Madison . If you would like a receipt for your payment by mail, please provide a self-addressed and stamped envelope.
To avoid long wait times, we highly recommend using the online payment method or drop boxes.
